Tandem Friends School invited Western Albemarle's Multicultural club to their annual Diversity Summit to discuss internalized homophobia, stereotypes in the media, racism and implicit bias.
Ms. Joyce Ivory, the president of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women of Charlottesville came to WAHS to speak about the organization and how it shows support for black girls and women.
We had the amazing honor of having Ms. Bernadette Whitsett-Hammond and Ms. Edwina St. Rose to talk about the Daughters of Zion African American cemetery restoration project.
Our Vice President, Claire Aminuddin, organized our January-February meeting by reconnecting with some Japanese students who attended the High School Diplomats program at Princeton University with her.
